It seems like we were just worried about summer storms and hurricanes and now we must change gears and be prepared for fall storms. Now that it is fall storm season it is important to understand that necessary precautions can save lives and property.  Check your home to ensure all window, siding, gutters, downspouts, decking, shutters and doors are properly installed and secure.  Put away or secure all umbrellas and outdoor furniture.  In addition, walk around your property to ensure all trees and vegetation is healthy and well rooted.  Dead and shallow root trees easily topple during heavy wind-storms.  Having a dead or compromised tree removed is far easier than dealing with the aftermath of it falling through your home.
