Don't Let Those Yule-Time Logs Spark a Fire!

It’s getting to be that time of year again when family and friends gather around the fireplace. On a cold night, it’s cozy, warm, and mesmerizing to have a nice fire going. But don’t get complacent and call it a night with a roaring fire still burning. Embers can pop and land several feet outside the fireplace if the screen or doors are open. Should these embers catch a rug, newspaper, couch, etc., on fire, the entire room could go up in smoke, and possibly the whole house. Don’t take any chances with your family’s safety and the integrity of your home. Always close the fireplace doors should you leave the room and make sure the fire is out prior to falling asleep for the night.
