Admittedly, storage areas are usually a mess, and when a fire creates even more havoc, they can become an overwhelming cleaning task.  What’s also of importance is the threat of fire in areas such as storage closets, attics, garages, etc.  These are often places where we tend to store paint, gas cans, lawn equipment, dirty rags, mulch, and a host of other flammable liquids.  Storage of such items requires care to avoid combustion and fire.  So, don't stick your head in the sand.....clean up those problem areas.
